UNITED BANKING ON OBURU AHEAD OF SATURDAYS CRUCIAL CAF FIXTURE

After witnessing his side waste numerous goal scoring opportunities in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederations Cup qualifier match against Royal AM, Mumamba Numba will be racing to have Kenyan international striker Vincent Oburu ready for Saturday’s game.

ZESCO United have labored in front of goal both in the Zambian league and CAF registering only four goals in the last six league matches.

Beleaguered with a series of injuries, Oburu’s start to life at ZESCO United has been largely frustrating.

The Kenyan missed preseason training and later suffered a hamstring injury, delaying his participation in the new season.

However, there has been remarkable progress in recent weeks with the Kenyan playing a critical role in ZESCO United’s friendly against TP Mazembe.

Oburu was yet again named in Numba’s 20-man squad that faced Power Dynamos in a barren draw.

Despite not playing any role in the match, Numba has been keeping the prolific striker for future assignments.

Oburu will be a likely major boost to the side’s ambitions of cruising past Royal AM when the two teams clash at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium on Saturday afternoon.
