OTIENO: WE ARE READY FOR DYNAMOS

Kenyan international and ZESCO United shot stopper, Ian Otieno believes the club is in a better position to beat Power Dynamos when the two teams meet in the MTN Super League week six match scheduled for Sunday at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium, Ndola.

ZESCO United have beaten Power Dynamos once, drawn once and lost once in the last three games the two teams have played at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium.

Meanwhile Otieno says Sunday’s clash against Dynamos will present the best opportunity for ZESCO United to get a revenge after last season’s 1-2 home defeat to the Kitwe giants.

“I think this game is always like a derby and everyone knows what is expected of them. Everyone knows what happened last season; we lost at home. But this season will be different because we have a strong team. We can only call on our supporters to come and support us because we are going to give it everything that we have.”

ZESCO United will be hoping to collect maximum points against Power Dynamos following their recent barren draw against Green Eagles.

“The mood in camp is very positive and everyone is happy to be in the team. I can just say that we will be taking this game seriously because after Sunday we will be playing in the CAF. I think Sunday’s game against Power Dynamos will give us a better picture on how ready we are to go to South Africa and get a positive result.”

And Otieno believes victory against Power Dynamos will give his side the right momentum before facing Royal AM of South Africa in the CAF Confederations Cup.

“This is a big game in which one doesn’t need to say much because naturally players come to the party knowing what a win means. I am pretty sure a victory will give us some good momentum as we head into CAF.

“We do respect Power Dynamos because they are not a pushover club but I believe we have the right ammunition and everyone at the club is working hard to be part of this game.”

ZESCO United will this coming Sunday take on Power Dynamos in the sixth match of the season at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium, Ndola.
