MUMAMBA ASSEMBLES STRONG SIDE AS WERE PREDICTS VICTORY AHEAD OF LEOPARDS CLASH

ZESCO United coach Numba Mumamba is confident of victory when his side clash against Royal Leopards of Eswatin in the CAF Champions League preliminary first leg encounter scheduled for Saturday at Mabuso sports stadium, Manzini.

The Zambian Super League champions arrived in Eswatin yesterday at 12:25 aboard a chartered aircraft ahead of Saturdays mouthwatering encounter.

Speaking on arrival at the King Mswati International airport, Mumamba declared his charges ready for Saturday’s game.

“I must say our preparations have been going on very well since we started our pre-season and the team is read for the challenge ahead of us. We don’t have injuries in the team which is a positive sign for us.

We have come with the best squad which we can ever assemble looking at the players we have in the team. We are looking for the best result when we meet Royal Leopards on Saturday,” he said.

The ZESCO United gaffer, however, expects the hosts to put up a spirited performance when the two teams meet.

“We expect a very tough game. They are a very good side, but we equally have a better side. We have the man power to get us a positive result. We have picked the best players for this game.”

This team is further strengthened by the players who where with the National Team on international duty. We will need to assess those who didn’t play in our next training sessions and see how they will be responding,” Mumamba added.

Meanwhile, Kenyan International and ZECO United striker, Jesse Were has predicted an outright victory ahead of Saturdays clash.

“We know how our fitness is now. We have been preparing since the beginning of the season. We have played a few test matches here and there and also just won the Charity Shield. We will give our best to our opponents because we have come here to win.

We don’t know much about our opponents which makes the game a bit tricky, but this is football played for 90 minutes. The team is ready and determined to win.”

ZESCO United will be aiming to open their CAF Champions League account on a high by beating Royal Leopards when the two teams clash at Mabuso sports stadium on Saturday.
